New Delhi, 5th Aug 2025: During his visit to Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 20th installment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.
As per reports, ₹20,500 crore has been transferred directly to the bank accounts of 9.7 crore farmers across the country. Under the scheme, each eligible farmer receives ₹2,000 per installment. This initiative provides an annual support of ₹6,000 to farmers, disbursed in three equal installments every four months.
The scheme was launched in 2019 by the Central Government with the objective of offering financial support to small and marginal farmers. PM Modi had inaugurated the scheme from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Since its inception, a total of ₹3.69 lakh crore has been disbursed to farmers under this scheme.
