Umerkot,Jan, 13: The New Year visit of the Chief Minister has now turned into action to make Umerkot, known as the capital of maize crops, green and beautiful. Local MLA and Minister Nityananda Gand has actively participated in the initiative for overall urban development. More than Rs 40 crore has been approved for regional development, and now various projects across the area have started in a wartime-style operation.
In Umerkot, work is ongoing on an auditorium and on the adjacent development of the Penduni Temple, with a grant of Rs10 lakh. Similarly:
Rs20 lakh has been allocated for the development of the crematorium,
Rs 10 lakh for the Baluguda Community Center,
Rs 90 lakh for the new bus stand’s gown hall,
Rs 1.5 crore for a commercial complex in Ward No. 4,
The Minister’s dream project and 4 cottages in the park are also under construction.
Altogether, municipal projects worth Rs 40.39 crore are currently underway. Municipal Executive Officer Alok Kumar Anugulia is personally overseeing the speedy completion of all works.
Additionally, to make the city pollution-free and to prevent large vehicles from entering urban areas, a 120-crore DPR has been prepared
