Baliguda, Feb, 13: On the third day of the State-Level Football Championship–2026, organised by the Baliguda Sub-Divisional Athletic Association at the local Biju Patnaik Mini Stadium, the first semi-final match was played between FC Sambalpur and Dosti Brothers Sundargarh.
In an exciting contest, FC Sambalpur defeated Dosti Brothers Sundargarh by 1–0 and advanced to the final.
Senior sports personalities Gopabandhu Sahu, Dr. Bichitra Nanda Acharya, Raj Kishore Das, Advisor Sheikh Sadik, Vice-President Satya Narayan Padhi, and Secretary Sushant Kumar Das attended as guests. They formally inaugurated the match by lighting the ceremonial lamp and taking the inaugural kick.
Mahadev Oram of FC Sambalpur was declared the “Man of the Match.”
The match was officiated by chief referee Jyoti Ranjan Swain, along with Sunil Kumar Behera, Shambhu Nath Mallik, and Kamakshya Prasad Pradhan.
On the fourth day, February 7, the third quarter-final match will be played between Bargarh and Jatni.
Members of the advisory committee including Debabrata Singh Deo and Surendra Kumar Patra, Joint Secretary Manas Ranjan Acharya, Treasurer Ranjit Kumar Mohanty, Sports Secretary Shibananda Pattnaik, Gangadhar Panda, Prashant Kumar Sahu, and other members of the organising committee were present throughout the event and extended their support in conducting the match smoothly.
