7th March 2025: The second phase of the Odisha Legislative Assembly’s budget session begins today, running until April 5. This phase will focus on discussions regarding the budget allocations for various departments, followed by the approval of the expenditure bills.
Reports from standing committees will be presented, and discussions on budget claims will continue from March 10 to 28. The expenditure approval bill is scheduled to be passed on March 29, ahead of the Eid break on March 31.
The first phase of the session was held from February 13 to 21. Opposition parties are preparing to raise concerns over issues like paddy procurement, legal matters, and the Polavaram project.
