Jharsuguda March, 18:Under the Odisha Government’s unique initiative, the ‘Shri Jagannath Darshan’ scheme, a special pilgrimage for senior citizens of Jharsuguda district has been launched. Today, at a special program organized by the district administration, 66 senior citizens were ceremonially flagged off for their pilgrimage to Jagannath Temple in Puri.
On this occasion, Minister’s representative Sudhanshu Bora, MP’s representative Subrata Tripathy, and MLA’s representative Bimalendu Bhol extended their शुभ wishes to the senior citizens and formally inaugurated the journey by waving the green flag.
To ensure smooth management of the program, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad, Bishwaranjan Nayak, Additional District Magistrates Braja Bandhu Bhoi, Lalit Soreng, Sanjeev Patel, and other departmental officials were present and supervised the arrangements for the comfort and convenience of the pilgrims.
Through the Odisha Government’s ‘Shri Jagannath Darshan’ scheme, senior citizens of the state are provided an opportunity to visit the holy shrine free of cost. The government bears all expenses related to travel, accommodation, and food. This initiative enables economically disadvantaged senior citizens to have darshan of the Lord during their lifetime and attain spiritual peace.
