Umerkote,Aug 24 [UDN}:: Five young athletes from Nabarangpur district have brought pride to the district by being selected for admission to the Odisha Government’s Sports Hostel.
Among the five selected athletes, four are girl students from Jodinga Government High School under Raighar Block. They are Ganeswari Gond, Kaleswari Gond, Pramila Santa, and Shivani Gond, who have been selected in the archery category.
The fifth athlete, Lincoln Rautaray, a student of Burja Ma Pendani High School under Umerkote Block, has been selected in the athletics category. He is the only boy from the district to have secured selection in this category.
The headmaster and other teachers of the school expressed happiness over Lincoln Rautaray’s achievement and congratulated him on his success.
On the occasion, Bajnath Gond, President of the School Management Committee and representative of the Nabarangpur Lok Sabha MP, along with senior committee member Manindrachandra Ray, felicitated Lincoln Rautaray by presenting him with a traditional uttariya. They also wished him a bright and successful future.
Similarly, all the successful athletes were felicitated at Jodinga High School in recognition of their achievement.
