State Remains Under the Influence of Kalbaisakhi as Gusty Winds, Lightning, and Rainfall Likely to Continue Till May 10

Bhubaneswar, May 06:  The impact of Kalbaisakhi (pre-monsoon thunderstorms) continues across the state. The influence of these storms is expected to persist until the 10th.
The Meteorological Department has issued alerts for thunderstorms and rainfall in all districts. Among them, seven districts—Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Boudh, and Kandhamal—have been placed under an Orange Warning. These areas may experience heavy rainfall accompanied by winds blowing at speeds of 50 to 60 km/h. There is also a warning of hailstorms in Sundargarh.
For the remaining districts, a Yellow Warning has been issued for rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning.
Similarly, for tomorrow, the Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Warning for 24 districts.
