Bhubaneswar, Feb, 13: Major action plan by the Health Department for the elimination of filariasis.
Health workers will now visit households and ensure the medicine is consumed in their presence.

The step has been taken as people were not consuming the medicine despite free distribution.
The drive will begin on February 10 and continue for 10 days.
Medicines will be administered in Balangir, Ganjam, Jajpur, Bargarh, and Dhenkanal districts.
Those assigned to distribute the medicine have been given proper training.
Health workers distributing the medicine will be tracked through GPS.
