Malkangiri , Dec, 06:The Uttam Malika Group of Institutions in Malkangiri observed World AIDS Day 2025 under the guidance of Dr. Shiva Narayan Patra, Chairman and Editor. The event was marked by a session where the Chief Guest, Shri Dilip Das, and distinguished guest Shri Raju Sarkar were present.
The event, which was organized at the conference hall of the institution, was attended by students from various disciplines, including nursing (B.Sc. Nursing), GNM, and ANM. Shri P. Kishore Kumar, Vice President, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of World AIDS Day, urging students to stay vigilant and aware of the significance of health education and the prevention of AIDS.
In his address, Shri Kumar enlightened the students about the dangers of AIDS and HIV, highlighting the importance of awareness, proper behavior, and health practices in preventing the spread of the disease. He also encouraged the youth, daily workers, and the general public to join the fight against HIV/AIDS through awareness campaigns.
After the speech, students presented models of various body organs and explained how each organ functions, helping the audience, especially younger students, better understand the human body. The event concluded with the distribution of awareness materials, including posters, drawings, and drama performances designed to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS.
The event was supported by faculty and staff, including Nursing Instructor Neha Ray, Nikita Gund, and B. Saraka, along with the team of students and volunteers from the institution. The program also had active participation from teachers like Alisha Pattnaik, Akash Mishra, Abhijit Mandal, Banita Burman, Suchismita Padhy, Non-Teaching Staff member Liza Ray, Kavita Sarkar, and Shiuli Halder.
