Students to Begin Undergraduate Studies from July 27 as Odisha Government Issues Revised Admission Timeline for Degree Colleges

Bhubaneswar: July 10 [UDN}:The revised schedule for undergraduate (Plus Three) admissions has been released by the Higher Education Department. Students who had already submitted their applications will now have the opportunity to edit or modify their forms and can also add new educational institutions to their list of preferences without paying any additional fee.

Students who completed their applications by July 12 will be allowed to participate in the choice filling process. The Higher Education Department has issued an official notification regarding the revised admission timeline.

According to the earlier schedule, classes for undergraduate courses were supposed to commence from July 9. However, the department has now revised the date, and academic sessions will begin from July 27 instead.

The second merit list, which was initially scheduled for release earlier, will now be published on July 20. Students selected in this list can complete their admissions between July 21 and July 23.

Similarly, the third merit list will be released on July 29, and students selected in this round can take admission between July 30 and August 1.

For waiting list and spot admissions, the list of eligible applicants will be published on August 4, while students will have to report to their institutions between August 5 and August 6.

The final merit list for spot admissions will be announced on August 7, and selected candidates can complete their admission formalities between August 10 and August 11.

The department has also clarified that students who secured admission in the first round can still make changes to their preferences. Even candidates who had chosen the Freeze option can switch to Slide or Float options, which will automatically cancel their previous admission and include them again in the subsequent admission process.

Students who selected Freeze, Float, or Slide options can also add new institutions to their preference list during the modification period. If no changes are made, the previously submitted options will be considered for merit selection.

The Higher Education Department has further taken steps to ensure that students receive clear information regarding the implementation of the free education initiative. Students enrolling in regular courses will also be required to submit an online consent form as part of the admission process.
