Under the banner of the All Odisha Teachers Aspirants’ Association, the protesters staged a sit-in at Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar, urging the state government to expedite the recruitment process and provide more opportunities to eligible candidates.

The protesters demanded recruitment against vacancies in government primary and high schools, special educator posts, and Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas.

According to the association, a large number of teaching positions remain vacant across Odisha, while thousands of qualified candidates are waiting for recruitment opportunities. The delay, they claimed, has created growing uncertainty and frustration among teacher aspirants.

The protesters also called for the regular publication of teacher recruitment notifications, arguing that recruitment drives at frequent intervals would give eligible candidates more opportunities to secure government teaching jobs.

The association further urged the government to identify existing vacancies and initiate the recruitment process without further delay.

During the demonstration, the aspirants said they are seeking a clear and consistent recruitment policy rather than having to wait for prolonged periods between recruitment drives.

The protesters warned that the agitation could be intensified if the government fails to respond to their demands and take concrete steps towards filling the vacant posts.

For now, the sit-in at Lower PMG continues, with the teacher aspirants seeking immediate government intervention and a time-bound recruitment process.
