Tourist Rush Expected as Duduma Waterfall Opens to Visitors

Lamtaput, 4th Nov 2025: Duduma Waterfall has been opened for tourists. After the effects of the cyclone Montha subsided, the restrictions imposed by the district administration have been lifted. Both tourists and locals are relieved, and the area has come alive again. Water is being released through the two gates of Jalaput and Machkund D’ Dam. The local Sarpanch has appealed to the public to remain cautious while visiting.

During the cyclone, Duduma was closed by the district administration as a precautionary measure. There was no major damage reported. As there is no risk now, it has been reopened for tourists, including Machkund and nearby areas.

On the other hand, the water level of Jalaput Dam is at 2748.40 feet. Its maximum water storage capacity is 2,750 feet. Due to potential risk, Gate No. 7 of the dam remains open, releasing 2,000 cusecs of water. The water level of Machkund D’ Dam is at 85.9 feet. Since the danger mark is 90 feet, Gate No. 7 has been opened, releasing 1,000 cusecs of water.
