Nabarangpur: April 20:The State-Level Chief Minister’s Cup tournaments for Under-14 and Under-16 categories in volleyball, kabaddi, football, and kho-kho have commenced at the Nabarangpur Stadium under the joint auspices of the district administration and the district sports association.
In the boys’ volleyball competition final, Ravi Singh Majhi Sports Club of Umerkote defeated Reliance Sporting Club of Nabarangpur to emerge as champions. Similarly, Jodinga Club won the title by defeating Ravi Singh Majhi Sports Club, Umerkote.
On this achievement, congratulations were extended by Sports Association Secretary Prahlad Tripathy, Vice-President M. Bala Krishna Rao, Joint Secretary Manoj Kumar Pattnaik, District Sports Officer Satyajit Gahan, District Physical Education Officer Prabhat Pattnaik, and Cricket Secretary Ashok Nayak, among others.
It is worth mentioning that in volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi, and football events, a total of 10 boys’ teams and 6 girls’ teams from both senior and junior categories of the district are participating.
Sports teachers Kali Kinkar Pattnaik and Sapan Bairagi, along with other sports teachers from the district’s ST & SC Development Department and Education Department, are managing the events.
Members of the Sports Association including Shashank Shekhar Behera, Durjya Harijan, G. Chandra Sekhar Raja, Harish Chandra Santa, Ajita Das, and others are actively extending their support.
