‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’ to Launch from Puri on May 29

Bhubaneswar, May 27: The Central Government is set to launch a nationwide campaign—‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’—on May 29, aimed at transforming the agriculture sector through grassroots engagement. The campaign will be flagged off from Puri, Odisha, and will continue till June 12.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the campaign virtually. The launch event will see the participation of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, and Fisheries & Animal Resources Minister Gokulananda Mallik.

Ahead of the launch, a preparatory meeting was held at Krushi Bhavan in Bhubaneswar under the chairmanship of Deputy CM and Agriculture Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo. Senior officials, including Development Commissioner Arvind Kumar Padhee, confirmed that preparations are in the final stage.

The inaugural ceremony will take place at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Biragobindapur, Sakhigopal. The Union Agriculture Minister will begin his visit with a darshan at the Jagannath Temple and take part in a Tiranga Yatra before attending various agriculture-related events.

Key highlights of the day include the flagging off of the Krishi Rath, participation in a , CIFA programme a mango festival at the Central Horticultural Experiment Station, and a plantation drive under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative. A large number of farmers and students are expected to attend.
