Rayagada, Dec, 06: On the occasion of World AIDS Day, a large awareness march and seminar were organized by the Rayagada District Youth Red Cross at the Rayagada Government College.
The event began in the college campus in the morning and the procession covered various parts of the town, raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. Students raised slogans to spread awareness about HIV/AIDS.
The awareness seminar was held at the college after the march. Dr. Saraswati Ray, the Principal of the college, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of correct knowledge about AIDS, dispelling misconceptions, and highlighting the role of the youth in spreading awareness.
Priyadarshini Bal, the Red Cross counselor at the college, also discussed HIV testing, preventive measures, and related support services in detail.
Teachers, including Shankar Peduru, along with other faculty members, played an important role in ensuring the success of the event. Over 300 students participated in the awareness march and seminar, promoting the message of HIV/AIDS awareness.
