12th National Handloom Day Celebrated in New Delhi with President Droupadi Murmu, Recognising the Skill, Dedication and Contribution of India’s Handloom Community

New Delhi, Aug 8 [UDN}:President Droupadi Murmu attended the 12th National Handloom Day celebration held in New Delhi.
During her address, she recalled a famous Odia line and urged people to wear handwoven garments, emphasizing the importance of supporting India’s rich handloom tradition.
At the event, a total of 22 weavers and artisans were honoured with the Sant Kabir Handloom Awards 2025 and the National Handloom Awards 2025, including two handloom artisans from Odisha.
