Papadahandi, Aug 8 [UDN}:August 7 (Bureau): A preparatory meeting for the observance of Shaheed Diwas (Martyrs’ Day) was held at the conference hall of the Papadahandi Block in Nabarangpur district.
The meeting was chaired by Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Pramod Kumar Prusti. Among the distinguished guests present were Papadahandi Block Chairperson Hemalata Majhi, Vice-Chairperson Sushanta Kumar Behera, Nabarangpur Zilla Parishad President Motiram Nayak, MP Representative Somanath Pujari, Vice-Chairperson of the Nabarangpur Special Development Council Lingaraj Bhatra, Block Development Officer (BDO) Kapildev Sahu, former MLA Bhujabal Majhi, Information and Public Relations Officer Manoj Behera, SDPO Satyajit Kandalkal, Shaheed Minar Committee President Muna Tripathy, Sarayuddin Ahmed, Nagendra Pattnaik, Manjula Majhi, Trinath Amanatya, Hari Panigrahi, Gram Panchayat Extension Officer Kamalendu Das, Block Social Security Officer Subrata Kisan, and several other officials and dignitaries.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the arrangements for the Martyrs’ Day programme. Key issues included ensuring strict security for participants carrying the ceremonial torch (Mashal), inviting dignitaries, honouring the family members of the martyrs, conducting Tilatarpana (traditional ritual offering in memory of the departed), cleaning and beautifying the Shaheed Minar (Martyrs’ Memorial), and making arrangements for vegetarian meals for attendees.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by BDO Kapildev Sahu, who expressed gratitude to all participants for their cooperation and participation.
