Nabarangpur, March, 2:  A joint district-level review meeting of the Health Department and the Women & Child Development Department regarding the health and nutrition of children and women in the district was held at the Mission Shakti Conference Hall in Nabarangpur. The meeting was chaired by the District Collector along with Maheshwar Swain.

During the meeting, the District Collector reviewed various health and women & child welfare indicators, placing special emphasis on preventing child marriage and teenage pregnancy. Strict instructions were issued to immediately file FIRs against family members in cases where such incidents are reported in the district.

Giving top priority to reducing maternal and child mortality in the district, the Collector warned that if negligence by any staff member is found in maternal death cases, immediate departmental action will be taken.

Two maternal death cases were reviewed during the meeting, and necessary instructions were issued. The Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A) program was also reviewed, and special directions were given to improve performance indicators.
