Koraput , Oct 31 (UDN): In a significant show of political unity, leaders from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Indian National Congress jointly raised strong demands for the protection of Kotia’s interests and territorial rights during an all-party meeting held at the conference hall of the Koraput District Collector’s office.
The leaders unanimously warned that under no circumstances would they allow the panchayat elections being organised by Andhra Pradesh in Kotia to be conducted successfully. They stressed the need for a united political front to safeguard Odisha’s interests in the disputed border region and prevent any attempts by Andhra Pradesh to strengthen its administrative influence.
As part of their strategy to thwart the proposed elections, representatives of all three political parties decided to station their members in every village of Kotia. They also resolved to deploy people at three major entry points along the border to closely monitor movement and prevent Andhra Pradesh from implementing its electoral plans.
The joint decision reflects a strong collective commitment among political parties in Odisha to protect Kotia and counter all strategies aimed at undermining the state’s rights over the region.
