Malkangiri ,March, 18: A public outreach programme was organized under the aegis of the Ama Police Committee at Chadeiguda village under Rasabeda Gram Panchayat in Khairput Block.
The programme was attended by Officer-in-Charge of Orkel Police Station, Dhiren Kumar Pattnaik, as the chief guest. Other guests included Khairput Zone Zilla Parishad Member Bali Majhi, Rasabeda Sarpanch Pramila Gutta, Kudumulugumma Sarpanch Mangala Madhi, LAMP President Gopi Pangi, Naib Sarpanch Ishwar Muduli, Ward Member Bati Bhumia, social workers Ghasiram Gutta, Bhagaban Sahu, Himanshu Sekhar Swain, and others.
The programme was conducted by Kudumulugumma Outpost Officer Krishna Chandra Hial. At the beginning of the event, women of Chadeiguda village welcomed the guests with rice tilak and flower garlands.
In his address, Mr. Pattnaik spoke about several important issues, including women’s safety, cyber fraud, consumption of prohibited intoxicants, youth involvement in gambling and cockfighting, underage motorcycle riding, child marriage, and provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. He highlighted both the positive and negative aspects of these issues and emphasized that the present time is crucial; otherwise, there will be significant deterioration in youth leadership and resources.
Other speakers also mentioned how the Ama Police initiative has helped the police become more approachable and closer to the public, changing its earlier image and building stronger community relations.
At the end of the programme, Kudumulugumma Outpost Officer Mr. Hial thanked all the guests and sought the cooperation of the public in police work. Personnel from Orkel Police Station and Kudumulugumma Outpost extended full support in making the outreach programme successful.
Local residents highly appreciated this kind of initiative by the police.
