Bhubaneswar, July 2 {UDN}: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit the state of Odisha on an important official tour, during which he will participate in two major events of national and state significance. As part of his visit, he will inaugurate a newly established ethanol production plant, a project expected to strengthen the state’s industrial growth, promote clean and renewable energy, support the agricultural economy, and contribute to India’s ethanol blending programme aimed at reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
In addition to inaugurating the ethanol facility, the Home Minister will also attend a special ceremonial event where the Odisha Police will be honoured with the President’s Colours—one of the highest and most prestigious distinctions that can be awarded to a police force or military unit in India. This honour is conferred in recognition of exceptional service, unwavering dedication, exemplary professionalism, courage, discipline, and outstanding contributions to maintaining law and order, ensuring internal security, and serving the nation with distinction.
The conferring of the President’s Colours marks a historic milestone for the Odisha Police, acknowledging its decades of committed service, modernization efforts, successful crime prevention initiatives, disaster response capabilities, and continuous dedication to protecting the lives and property of the people. The ceremony is expected to be attended by senior government officials, police officers, dignitaries, and other distinguished guests.
The Home Minister’s visit is being viewed as a significant occasion for Odisha, highlighting both the state’s progress in industrial development through sustainable energy initiatives and the national recognition of its police force for excellence in public service and security.
