Authorities Set Up Peace Committee Ahead of Hingula Yajna Festival in Baunshanta and Balangi to Maintain Law and Order

Rasulpur,April 01:A peace committee has been formed for the Hingula Yajna festival dedicated to Goddess Maa Hingula, the presiding deity of Baunshanta and Balangi villages under Jabara Panchayat in Rasulpur block.
A meeting was held on Monday under the अध्यक्षता of Kuakhia Police Station IIC Sushanta Kumar Sethi, where Rasulpur Additional Tehsildar Kumudini Jena attended as a guest and presented various proposals regarding the formation of the peace committee. Administrative officials and villagers from both villages participated in the meeting.
For more than 15 years, there had been a dispute between the two villages regarding the demarcation of the पूजा site boundaries. This year, with the initiative of the administration, the issue has been amicably resolved, and steps have been taken to ensure the festival is conducted peacefully by forming the peace committee.
The meeting, held at the police station premises, was attended by elders from both villages, along with MLA representatives including Tirthabasi Panda, and prominent persons like Akshaya Kumar Panda and Prakash Chandra Samal.
The Balangi Hingula Yajna festival will begin from April 1. Earlier, the yajna festival in Baunshanta village had already been successfully completed. Both villages had cooperated to conduct the previous festival peacefully.
The administration has appealed to the public of both villages to maintain peace and harmony during the upcoming festival, just like in previous years. Members of the peace committee have been entrusted with responsibilities to ensure that no group engages in any form of conflict, and that the festival is conducted with a spirit of brotherhood.
It has been decided that people from both villages will sit together, share prasad, assist each other during the पूजा, and ensure that no one is prevented from participating in rituals at the mandap.
It is noteworthy that disputes between the two villages over conducting the yajna at the boundary area had persisted for years, even reaching the court. As per court directions and administrative efforts, the long-standing issue was resolved. Since then, both villages have been organizing their पूजा and yajna festivals separately within their respective boundaries.
To prevent any recurrence of disputes during the festival, the administration has formed the peace committee. IIC Sushanta Kumar Sethi expressed confidence that this will ensure the festival is conducted smoothly and peacefully.
