Awareness Drive on Water Conservation Held on World Water Day

Jeypore April 07: On the occasion of World Water Day, an awareness program was organized by the M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Jeypore, at Dudhari Gram Panchayat under Semiliguda block in Koraput district.
Scientist Dr. Jatirmayi Lenka from Sunabeda attended as the chief guest and created awareness among farmers about the importance of water conservation and various scientific methods for managing water resources.
Naib Sarpanch of Dudhari Gram Panchayat, Maheswar Nayak, spoke about the growing water scarcity in the region, its proper management, and the need for adequate drinking water supply and irrigation facilities for agriculture.
On this occasion, Dr. Kartik Charan Lenka emphasized that the active participation of every citizen is essential for global water conservation and administered a pledge to all participants to conserve water.
Santosh Kumar Sahu highlighted the importance of restoring groundwater resources, rainwater harvesting, and its proper utilization in agriculture. Similarly, Mrs. Diptimayi Sahu explained practical methods for collecting, storing, and effectively using rainwater.
Around 80 farmers from Dudhari Gram Panchayat actively participated in the program, making it a success. The event was notably supported by Gopi Golari, Dilip Kumar Subuddhi, and Pratyush Padhi.
The program was successfully conducted under the leadership of Director Prashant Parida and coordinated by Dr. Kartik Charan Lenka.
