Birthdays of Meenaketan Sahu and Om Marked Through Blood Donation Camp, Promoting Humanity, Community Service and the Spirit of Giving

Telkoi, Sept 11 [UDN}:: A blood donation camp was organized at Charigada College in Telkoi Block to mark the 23rd birthday of Meenaketan Sahu, a State Executive Committee member of the Odisha State Blood Donors’ Federation, and the 18th birthday of Om Pratik.

The camp was inaugurated by Parbati Sahu, Principal of the college; Akshaya Sahu, Public Relations Officer of the Keonjhar District Blood Bank; Dr. Mausam Majhi, Medical Officer of Telkoi; Somanath Sahu, father of Meenaketan; and Gobind Chandra Sahu, mentor of the college’s Youth Red Cross unit.

A total of 62 units of blood were collected during the camp and subsequently handed over to the Keonjhar Blood Bank.

Members of the Keonjhar branch of the Odisha State Blood Donors’ Federation, including President and lecturer Himanshu Shekhar Mohant, Vice-President and lecturer Narendra Satapathy, General Secretary and lecturer Santosh Senapati, Turumunga coordinator Truptimayee Barik, and advisory committee member Duryodhan Mohant, encouraged and motivated the blood donors.

Meenaketan’s mother Sumitra Sahu, brother Shibaprasad Sahu, along with college faculty members Ranjan Dalabehera, Babita Roula, Sanjay Dehuri, Subrata Mahakud and Rakesh Mahakud, as well as Youth Red Cross volunteers, extended their cooperation in making the blood donation camp successful.

The initiative turned the birthday celebrations of the two young men into a meaningful social service activity, encouraging voluntary blood donation and contributing to the availability of blood at the Keonjhar Blood Bank.
