Bhubaneswar: April. 24:The Election Commission of India has directed that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) should not be transferred until the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls is completed in Odisha.
Since BLOs are actively engaged in the voter list revision process, their transfers have been temporarily restricted to ensure smooth completion of the exercise.
Following this directive, the Directorate of Elementary Education Odisha has issued urgent instructions to all District Education Officers (DEOs) and Block Education Officers (BEOs) to strictly comply with the order.
Officials stated that BLOs play a crucial role in updating and verifying voter lists, and any transfer during this period could disrupt the process. Hence, the decision has been taken to maintain continuity and efficiency in the revision work.
