Gudari/Mar, 21:The administration has now reached the doorsteps of the people. Leaving behind urban comfort, two IAS officers climbed hills to understand the issues faced by residents living in remote hilly areas.
Ashutosh Kulkarni, the District Collector of Rayagada district, along with Dudhal Abhishek Dillip, Sub-Collector of Gunupur, visited inaccessible areas of Gudari block for the first time, drawing public attention.
Difficult Journey and Public Interaction
After completing a grievance hearing at the Gudari Block office, the Collector and Sub-Collector visited the hilltop villages of Karlagudi, Rengapadar, and Kepti under Madhuban Panchayat. They walked nearly 5 to 7 kilometers along rocky hill paths and crossed streams to reach the villages.
The villagers were both surprised and delighted to see senior district-level officials visiting their remote hamlets in person.
Immediate Instructions to Address Issues
During the visit, after inquiring about basic amenities and local concerns, the Collector issued the following directives:
Aadhaar and Ration Cards: Directed the Tahsildar and BDO to organize special camps immediately to resolve related issues.
Roads and Electricity: Urged officials to expedite road connectivity to the three villages under the Prime Minister’s Rural Roads Scheme, along with drinking water supply and electrification works.
Housing Scheme: Advised officials to ensure eligible beneficiaries receive housing under government schemes and to complete construction at the earliest.
Education and Health: Directed departmental officers to complete Anganwadi centers and school infrastructure work without delay.
Collector Mr. Kulkarni stated that in the coming days, the administration will continue reaching every last village to provide all possible assistance to the people.
During the visit, Chief Development Officer Akshaya Kumar Khemundu, Gudari BDO Suchismita Behera, Tahsildar Adala Snehalata, along with engineers and officials from various departments, were present.
