Kolnara,Aug 21 [UDN}:: A cyber security awareness programme was organised at PM SHRI Jagadamba Government Higher Secondary School in Kolnara to educate students about online safety and the growing threat of cybercrime.
The programme was organised by Chandili Police Station. AAI Uttam Kumar Sahu, SI Ashutosh Sahu, LC B.M. Choudhury and Durga Patnaik attended the event and provided students with important information on cyber security and safe digital practices.
During the programme, the police officials particularly sensitised students about online fraud, suspicious and unknown links, the safe handling of OTPs and passwords, responsible use of social media, and measures to protect themselves from cybercrime. Students were advised to remain cautious while sharing personal information online and to avoid responding to suspicious messages, links or requests.
At the conclusion of the programme, students were asked several questions related to cyber security. Those who gave the correct answers were awarded prizes as a means of encouraging greater awareness and understanding of digital safety.
School Principal Jyotsnarani Behera welcomed the guests and later proposed the vote of thanks. The participants expressed hope that the programme would play an important role in increasing awareness among students about digital security and help them adopt safer practices while using the internet and social media.
