According to an official order issued by the District Education Office, all government and private schools from primary level up to Class X will remain closed during this period due to the prevailing extreme heat conditions. The decision has been taken in view of rising temperatures and associated health risks for children.

However, the administration clarified that ongoing examinations scheduled during this period will continue as per the existing timetable. Schools have been instructed to conduct examinations during morning hours wherever possible to avoid exposure to peak afternoon heat.

The order further directs all educational institutions to ensure adequate arrangements for safe drinking water on school premises and to strictly follow heatwave safety guidelines. Heads of institutions have also been instructed to take necessary precautions to safeguard both students and staff during the extreme weather conditions.

District authorities said the measure is preventive in nature and aims to minimise the risk of heat-related illnesses among students, especially during peak summer conditions.

Officials added that the situation will continue to be monitored closely and further decisions will be taken based on weather conditions and advisories issued by relevant authorities.
