Nabarangpur,Sept 22 [UDN}:: A district-level joint public grievance hearing camp was held at the Jharigam Block office on Monday with the objective of providing prompt hearings on public grievances, ensuring resolution of complaints as per government rules, and bringing government services closer to the people.
The grievance hearing camp was jointly chaired by Nabarangpur Superintendent of Police Kashyap Partha Jagadish and Additional District Magistrate Dr Pramod Kumar Pusti. Among those present were Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad Biranchi Narayan Darwan, Sub-Collector Prakash Kumar Mishra, the Block Development Officer of Jharigam, and other district- and block-level officials and employees from various departments.
During the camp, a total of 29 grievances were received from members of the public. Of these, 20 were individual complaints, while nine concerned village-level issues. Officials heard the grievances and directed the concerned departmental authorities to examine each case in accordance with the applicable rules and take necessary action to ensure their speedy resolution.
As part of the camp, eligible beneficiaries were also provided government welfare assistance. Two widow pension benefits and two disability pensions under the social security scheme were distributed to eligible beneficiaries. In addition, one beneficiary was provided with a wheelchair.
The officials stressed the need to give priority to public concerns and ensure timely and quality resolution of grievances. The concerned departments were instructed to undertake necessary verification of the complaints and take appropriate action at the earliest.
Such public grievance hearing camps are serving as an important administrative mechanism for taking people’s problems directly to the authorities, facilitating speedy resolution of genuine grievances, and ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of government schemes and public services.
