Kalahandi ,Sept 18 [UDN}: A comprehensive review of health services in Kalahandi district was conducted at the District Health Society conference hall under the leadership of Odisha Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling.
During the review meeting, the Minister issued strict directions to departmental officials to take effective measures to bring down maternal and child mortality rates significantly. He also stressed the need to make the ‘Anemia Mukt Bharat’ (Anemia-Free India) campaign more active and effective at the grassroots level.
Dr. Mahaling directed officials to intensify efforts towards the complete elimination of tuberculosis (TB) in the district through early detection, timely treatment and effective monitoring of patients.
The meeting also focused on strengthening healthcare infrastructure in rural and remote areas of Kalahandi so that people can access quality medical services closer to their homes. The Minister emphasised ensuring adequate availability of essential medicines in hospitals and health centres and called for close monitoring of healthcare delivery.
Officials were directed to implement government health programmes effectively and ensure that the benefits of various healthcare schemes reach the people, particularly those living in rural and underserved areas.
