Malkangiri, Mar 1: The famous annual yatra of Maa Nakateswari, the presiding deity of Malkangiri district, has begun with great joy and enthusiasm. On the first day of the festival, a grand procession of the देवी passed through the Jagannath Temple and Subhash Chowk before reaching the main shrine, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere across the region.
This traditional festival commenced on Sunday and will continue until Tuesday. The temple administration is conducting all the rituals with utmost devotion and discipline. With deep faith in the power and glory of Maa Nakateswari, thousands of devotees from Odisha as well as neighboring states like Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh have flocked to seek her blessings and fulfill their wishes.
To make the festival more attractive, a large fair (Meena Bazaar) has been organized near the temple premises, where people of all ages—from children to the elderly—are enjoying various forms of entertainment.
Considering the heavy rush of devotees, the administration has tightened security arrangements. The temple management committee has also made special arrangements to ensure orderly darshan for all devotees.
With chants in praise of Maa and the rhythm of traditional musical instruments, the three-day yatra has become an unforgettable moment for the people of the region.
