Football Team from Malkangiri Heads to Berhampur Amid Enthusiasm

Malkangiri, June 6:  The boys’ and girls’ teams from Malkangiri district have departed for Berhampur to participate in the Under-14 Chief Minister’s Trophy Inter-District Football Championship.

The tournament will be held at Gandhi Stadium in Berhampur from June 1 to June 7, with teams from eight districts taking part in the competition.

A total of 35 players from Malkangiri district — including 16 boys and 19 girls — left for Berhampur in a special bus.

According to reports, the Malkangiri team will face Ganjam on June 1, Nabarangpur on June 3, and Koraput on June 5. The final match of the tournament is scheduled to be held on June 7.
During the team’s departure, District Sports Officer Turuk Munna, District Athletic Association Treasurer S. Prasad Rao, Durga Prasad Pattnaik, and Subrata Mallik were present to encourage the players and extend their best wishes for an outstanding performance.

On this tour, the boys’ team is accompanied by coach Trilochan Mishra and manager Shatrughna Behera, while the girls’ team is accompanied by coach Gangi Duruka and manager Chandra Nayak.
