Government Announces Higher Minimum Support Price for Onions to Strengthen Farmer Income and Market Stability in Maharashtra

Maharashtra,, July 10 [UDN}:  The government has increased the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for onions in Maharashtra, providing major relief to farmers. The procurement price of onions has been raised by 13 percent, increasing from ₹1,875 per quintal to ₹2,125 per quintal.
The revised MSP has been enhanced under the Price Stabilization Fund (PSF) to ensure better returns for onion growers and to protect them from market fluctuations. The decision is expected to benefit thousands of farmers across the state by improving their income and encouraging onion cultivation.
The move is also aimed at maintaining a balance between fair prices for farmers and stable prices for consumers in the market. Agricultural experts believe that the increase in procurement prices will strengthen the rural economy and boost confidence among onion producers.
