Government Clears Proposal for Four Star Hotels Across Odisha Along with a New Motel Project in Koraput to Strengthen Hospitality and Tourism

Bhubaneswar, July 2 {UDN}: Odisha continues to emerge as one of India’s preferred destinations for hospitality investments, with four new star hotel projects and a motel project receiving approval under the state’s Tourism Policy (Amended) 2026. Leading hospitality companies are set to establish new properties in Sambalpur, Nayagarh, Balasore, and Koraput, strengthening the state’s tourism infrastructure.

The approved projects will attract a total investment of ₹30.73 crore and create 81 new hotel rooms, providing a significant boost to tourism, employment, and local economic development.
Among the approved projects, Crystal Yard Limited will construct a 3-star hotel at Jogipali in Sambalpur on 1.1 acres of land. The hotel will feature 60 rooms along with modern guest facilities, with an estimated investment of ₹9.8 crore.

Similarly, Imperial Hotels will establish a 3-star hotel in Nayagarh on 0.15 acres of land. The project, involving an investment of ₹9.22 crore, will include 20 well-equipped guest rooms.
In Somanathpur under Remuna, Balasore, Maa Tarini Resorts will develop another 3-star hotel across 3 acres of land with an investment of ₹9.70 crore. The hotel will have 22 rooms. To facilitate the project, the Special Single Window Clearance Committee (SSWCC) has recommended the allotment of 1.76 acres of urban land and 2.64 acres of rural land.

Apart from these hotel projects, Highway Motels will develop a motel project at Boriguma in Koraput district on 0.76 acres of land. The project will include nine rooms and is expected to cater primarily to highway travellers and tourists visiting southern Odisha.
All these proposals were approved during the 48th meeting of the Special Single Window Clearance Committee (SSWCC), chaired by the Tourism Secretary, under the provisions of the Odisha Tourism Policy (Amended) 2026.
The new hospitality projects are expected to enhance accommodation facilities across the state, encourage private investment, generate employment opportunities, and further strengthen Odisha’s growing tourism sector.
