Rasulpur,Aug 5 [UDN}:In the first phase, two tonnes of cattle feed arrived at the Rasulpur Block office on Monday for cattle affected by the flood situation. The feed was distributed among around 1,400 cattle belonging to different flood-affected villages under Bandhdihi, Bahadalapur and Prathamakhandi Gram Panchayats.
For large cattle, feed was provided at the rate of 1 kg per animal per day, while calves were given 250 grams per animal per day. Accordingly, a total of 3 kg of feed for large cattle and 750 grams for calves was supplied for three days.
The distribution of cattle feed was carried out under the direct supervision of Rasulpur Block Development Officer (BDO) Satyānanda Dash. The feed was allocated based on the number of cattle recorded in each Panchayat list and was handed over to the respective Sarpanchs, Panchayat Executive Officers and other officials for further distribution.
4,600 quintals of cattle feed to be distributed in three Panchayats
The cattle feed will be provided to livestock owners at the Panchayat offices according to the number of cattle they own, informed Block Veterinary Officer Dr. Ranjan Kumar Sethi. The concerned AI (Artificial Insemination) workers, Livestock Inspectors (LI) and Maitri workers of the respective Panchayats have been instructed to ensure proper and fair distribution.
Veterinary officials including VS Sandeep Kumar Barik, LI Bijay Kumar Samal, Bibhuti Bhusan Tripathy, Prasanna Pratap Jena, Susant Kabi and Maitri workers assisted in managing the cattle feed distribution process.
