Government Extends Financial Support to Durga Puja Committees, Aiming to Facilitate Organised and Peaceful Festival Celebrations

Umerkote:Aug 10 [UDN}: Financial assistance has been provided by the Odisha Government to several historic Durga Puja organising committees in Umerkote of Nabarangpur district. The assistance was distributed at the Kalyan Mandap located on Kondagaon Road in Umerkote.
At a programme held on Wednesday evening, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond handed over financial support to three Durga Puja committees — Gulipatna Kalinga Kala Sanskrutika Yuva Parishad, Bhanja Sanskrutika Kala Parishad, and DNK Utkal Kala Sansad. Each committee received assistance of ₹50,000.
The initiative aims to support the traditional Durga Puja celebrations and encourage cultural activities conducted by local organisations.
The programme was attended by Umerkote Municipality Chairperson Radha Bhatra, councillors Tapan Debnath, Muna Padhi, and Kanaklata Nayak, Minister’s representative Ashok Kumar Padhi, Municipal Executive Officer Alok Kumar Anugulia, along with members of all the Durga Puja committees.
