Grand Opening of Chief Minister’s Cup Football Tournament Held in Nabarangpur with Sporting Spirit

Nabarangpur, April 23:  The state-level Under-14 and Under-16 Chief Minister’s Cup Football Tournament has been inaugurated at Nabarangpur College Ground and the Kalahandi Ground behind the District Headquarters Hospital. The tournament is being jointly organized by the district administration and the district sports association.
On this occasion, former All India Santosh Trophy player Prashant Behera attended as the chief guest and inaugurated the event. Distinguished guests included Sports Association Vice President M. Balakrishna Rao and senior sports personality Shubhendu Behera, who distributed sports kits to the players.
Sports Association Secretary Prahlad Tripathy, Joint Secretary Manoj Kumar Pattnaik, District Sports Officer Satyajit Gahan, District Physical Education Officer Prabhat Pattnaik, Cricket Secretary Ashok Nayak, and senior association member Shashank Shekhar Behera extended their best wishes to the players.
It is noteworthy that teams are participating in volleyball, kho-kho, kabaddi, and football events. A total of 10 boys’ teams and 6 girls’ teams from both senior and junior categories of the district are taking part in the tournament.
Sports teachers including Kalikinkar Pattnaik, Sapan Bairagi, Kishore Sil, Bibhansish De, along with teachers from the district Welfare Department and Education Department, are managing the events.
According to information, the tournament will conclude on the 23rd, and prizes will be distributed to the winning teams on that occasion.
