High Court Judge D. D. Bansal Reaches Court on Bicycle Following Prime Minister’s Call for Sustainable Lifestyle Practices

Jabalpur:May 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi appeal to conserve fuel has had a significant impact in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh High Court judge Justice D.D. Bansal travelled to court on a bicycle. To spread awareness about saving petrol and diesel, he cycled nearly three kilometres from his official residence at Pachpedi in Civil Lines to the High Court.

Following the Prime Minister’s appeal during the ongoing crisis situation, Justice Bansal went to court on a bicycle for the first time. In line with the Prime Minister’s message, he also urged ordinary citizens to conserve fuel as much as possible. A court staff member accompanied Justice Bansal on another bicycle, carrying a bag, tiffin box, and other essential items.

Justice Bansal said that the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Sanjeev Sachdeva, inspired him to ride a bicycle. He stated that everyone should use bicycles whenever possible to save fuel. He also remarked that it is wrong to think that a High Court judge cannot travel by bicycle.

The Prime Minister himself has also followed his own appeal by reducing his convoy by 50 percent. Keeping the West Asian crisis in view, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appealed to citizens to conserve fuel. He urged people to reduce the use of petrol and diesel, work from home when possible, and avoid unnecessary foreign travel.

He also requested citizens to refrain from buying gold for one year. As part of his initiative, the number of vehicles in the Prime Minister’s official convoy has been significantly reduced. This was implemented during his recent visits to Gujarat and Assam.

Following the Prime Minister’s request, several major measures have also been taken in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh. Discussions are underway to implement similar measures in many other states as well.
