AI Appreciation Day 2026: Orient Technologies and Aptech Highlight Responsible AI Adoption and Future-Ready Workforce

Mumbai: On the occasion of AI Appreciation Day 2026, technology and education leaders emphasised that artificial intelligence should be leveraged to enhance human capabilities, transform enterprise operations and prepare the workforce for an increasingly AI-driven economy.

Industry experts from Orient Technologies Limited and Aptech Limited stressed that while AI is revolutionising businesses through automation and intelligent decision-making, long-term success will depend on responsible adoption, strong governance and continuous skill development.

Umesh Shah, Director, Orient Technologies Limited, said AI presents an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between people and technology while delivering greater business value.

“AI Appreciation Day is a moment to recognise AI’s potential, acknowledge the responsibility that comes with its adoption, and strengthen the relationship between people and technology. At Orient Technologies, we are bringing these principles to life by combining AI-powered IT Service Management (ITSM), automated support processes and robust governance to transform service desks into strategic centres of innovation that deliver faster resolutions, better user experiences and greater business value,” he said.

According to Shah, AI-powered ITSM solutions are enabling enterprises to improve operational efficiency, automate routine processes and enhance customer and employee experiences while ensuring transparency, security and governance remain central to AI implementation.

Echoing similar views, Sandip Weling, Whole-time Director and Chief Business Officer – Global Retail Business, Aptech Limited, said AI should be viewed as a tool to augment human potential rather than replace it.

“As Aptech marks 40 years of empowering learners through education and skilling, we believe the future of AI is not about replacing human potential but augmenting it responsibly. As AI reshapes the world of work across technology, business, AVGC-XR, beauty and wellness, hospitality, and the creator economy, our priority is to build future-ready talent capable of applying AI with skill, creativity, judgement and responsibility,” he said.

Weling added that a human-first approach to AI will help develop the next generation of professionals and creators who can confidently lead India’s digital and creative economy while using AI responsibly.

The leaders agreed that as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into enterprise operations and education, organisations must invest equally in technology, governance and workforce development. Responsible AI adoption, combined with continuous learning and human-centric innovation, they said, will be essential for building resilient businesses and preparing talent for the future of work.
