Indian Overseas Bank tops Hindi implementation rankings among PSU banks with 4th Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar in a row

Mumbai, 17 September 2026: On the occasion of Hindi Diwas and the All-India Official Language Conference, Indian Overseas Bank has once again been conferred the best-performing public sector bank in official language implementation, winning the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar (First Prize) for the fourth consecutive year.

The award ceremony took place in Mumbai (Navi Mumbai), Maharashtra. Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah presented the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar (First Prize) to Shri Ajay Kumar Srivastava, MD & CEO, Indian Overseas Bank.

Four consecutive wins reflect sustained, consistent effort in a fiercely contested category. The bank has woven Hindi into everyday banking as a genuine effort to make services accessible, rather than treating it as a compliance requirement.

Expressing his gratitude, Shri Ajay Kumar Srivastava, MD & CEO, Indian Overseas Bank, said, “This recognition, for the fourth year running, is a testament to the discipline and commitment our officers and employees bring to promoting Hindi across our day-to-day operations, and I’m deeply grateful for their sustained effort. At the same time, we remain conscious that India’s strength lies in its many languages, and regional languages continue to be central to how we serve customers across the country. This award reinforces our resolve to deepen that effort, particularly as we work toward greater financial inclusion.”
