Kotpad, June 16 : World Blood Donor Day was observed yesterday at the Jayapur District Headquarters Hospital.
On this occasion, the Sub-Collector, the Chief District Medical Officer, and other dignitaries attended the programme and felicitated blood donors who had come from different parts of the district.
Among those honoured was Kotpad’s prominent blood donor, Tulasi Das Nayak (popularly known as Nini Babu), who was recognized for his outstanding contribution to blood donation. Young blood donor Rabindra Sahu was also present and actively assisted in the programme.
Nini Babu is widely regarded as a dedicated blood donor in the Kotpad region. Whenever there is an urgent need for blood, people in the area often turn to him first for help. He strongly promotes the noble cause of blood donation and continuously motivates young people to come forward and donate blood.
By drawing inspiration from such selfless individuals, the youth can develop a spirit of service and may themselves become committed blood donors in the future. Blood donation is considered a noble act that helps save lives and serves humanity.
