Jeypore ,Oct 21 [UDN}: Police in Jeypore have launched a public awareness initiative to promote the 112 emergency response service, using auto-rickshaws as a medium to spread information among the general public. As part of the initiative, the auto-rickshaws have been assigned special identification numbers to give them a distinct identity.
According to the police, anyone facing an emergency can dial 112 to seek immediate assistance. The initiative aims toOct 21 [UDN}: ensure that more people are aware of the emergency helpline and know how to access assistance when required.
Auto-rickshaws have been selected as an effective medium for the awareness campaign because they operate across different parts of the city and play an important role in local transportation. They also assist people arriving from outside the city, allowing information about the emergency service to reach a wider section of the public.
Through this initiative, the police aim to strengthen public awareness of the 112 emergency helpline and encourage citizens to make use of the service during emergencies.
