Landmark initiative begins in Odisha as authorities undertake comprehensive spring enumeration to support water resource planning and environmental balance.

Bhubaneswar, April 22:  For the first time in the state, a spring enumeration program is being conducted. The data collected from this initiative will help in groundwater management and support environmental balance in the concerned regions.
A meeting of all District Collectors of the state was held under the chairpersonship of Chief Secretary Anu Garg, where a presentation was made regarding the irrigation census being carried out in the state by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics.
The meeting reviewed the progress of:
the 7th Minor Irrigation Census,
the 2nd Census of Water Bodies,
the 1st Census of Major and Medium Irrigation Projects, and
the 1st Spring Enumeration Program.
