Bbubaneswar, Sept. 18 (UDN): A low-pressure area is likely to develop over the north Andaman Sea by the evening of September 19, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday.

According to the latest weather bulletin, an upper-air cyclonic circulation currently persisting over north Thailand in the mid-tropospheric levels is expected to move eastwards and emerge over the north Andaman Sea within the next 24 hours.
Under the influence of this circulation, a low-pressure system is likely to form over the north Andaman Sea around September 19 evening.
System May Intensify
The weather system is expected to gradually strengthen after formation and move in a west-northwestward direction towards the south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts during the following three to four days, the IMD said.
The potential development of the system is being closely monitored, particularly in view of its projected movement towards the east coast.
The meteorological department is expected to issue further forecasts and advisories as the system develops and its intensity and movement become clearer.
Authorities and residents in coastal areas are advised to follow subsequent updates and advisories issued by the IMD.
