Nabarangpur ,Sept 10 [UDN}: Nabarangpur Collectorate has secured first position among all 30 district collectorates in Odisha in government file processing through the Odisha State Workflow Automation System (OSWAS), based on its performance in August 2026.
The effective use of OSWAS across various district offices and institutions has significantly improved the speed of file processing and decision-making. During August, the Establishment Section of Nabarangpur Collectorate processed 1,744 files, followed by the General and Miscellaneous Section with 1,241 files, while the District Welfare Officer’s office processed 1,108 files.
Among district-level offices, the District Project Office, Samagra Shiksha processed 1,132 files, the CDMO & PHO office processed 1,034, and the District Education Officer’s office processed 688 files.
At the block level, Nabarangpur Panchayat Samiti processed 742 files, Umerkote Panchayat Samiti 622, and Nandahandi Panchayat Samiti 551 files. At the tehsil level, Umerkote Tehsil processed 636 files, Nandahandi Tehsil 485, and Chandahandi Tehsil 414 files. Nabarangpur Municipality processed 819 files.
OSWAS enables the digital movement of government files, real-time monitoring of file status, supervision of decision-making and timely completion of official work. It has also helped reduce paper usage while improving transparency, accountability and administrative efficiency.
District Collector and District Magistrate Dr Maheswar Swain congratulated all officers and employees involved in the achievement. He advised them to continue making maximum and effective use of OSWAS to make file processing faster and more efficient.
Officials who made notable contributions to OSWAS implementation were felicitated on the occasion, including Deputy Collectors Samina Akhtari and Nibedita Satapathy, District Welfare Officer Rabindra Palaka, District Education Officer Chhatrapati Sahu, CDM & PHO Dr Prafulla Kumar Padhi, BDO Nabarangpur Sunil Khara, BDO Umerkote Manoj Kumar Meher, BDO Nandahandi Khiroda Chandra Sahu, Tehsildar Umerkote Maghaban Bagh, Tehsildar Nandahandi Chandra Das Mahanandia, Tehsildar Chandahandi Sahadeb Kutruka, and Nabarangpur Municipality Executive Officer Ashok Kumar Karn.
Additional District Magistrate (General) Dr Pramod Kumar Pushti also attended the programme and stressed the importance of effective OSWAS use to improve efficiency and transparency in government functioning.
The district administration stated that effective use of OSWAS will continue to strengthen digital governance and make government service delivery faster, more transparent and accountable. Superintendent of Police Kashyap Parth Jagadish, DFO Udayan Subuddhi, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad Biranchi Narayan Darwan, Sub-Collector Prakash Kumar Mishra, and other officials were present.
