Major Boost for Odisha’s Entertainment Sector as Government Announces Plan to Establish Cine Halls Across All Blocks

Bhubaneswar, July 1 {UDN}:  At the 35th and 36th Odisha State Film Awards Ceremony, held at the Lok Seva Bhawan Convention Centre in Bhubaneswar, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made a significant announcement aimed at strengthening the state’s film and entertainment ecosystem.

Addressing filmmakers, artists, technicians, and members of the film fraternity, the Chief Minister declared that the Odisha Government is planning to establish cinema halls in every block of the state. The initiative is intended to improve access to quality cinema for people living in rural and semi-urban areas while also providing a stronger platform for the promotion and exhibition of Odia films.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the government is committed to the growth of the Odia film industry and the preservation of the state’s rich cultural heritage. He noted that the availability of cinema halls across all blocks would not only make entertainment more accessible but also encourage local filmmakers by creating a wider audience and better exhibition infrastructure.

He further stated that this initiative would generate employment opportunities, promote cultural activities, and contribute to the overall development of the state’s creative economy.
