Nandapur, July 18 [UDN}: In an effort to promote livestock development and help farmers become self-reliant through rearing cows, buffaloes, poultry, ducks, and goats, work orders for the construction of animal sheds were distributed to 39 selected beneficiaries from various panchayats under Nandapur Block in Koraput district on Thursday at the Nandapur Veterinary Office.
Under the supervision of Block Veterinary Officer Dr. Yashobanta Kumuti, work orders were issued for the establishment of various livestock units. These included poultry farms with a capacity of 2,000 broiler chickens for 12 beneficiaries, poultry farms with 3,000 birds for two farmers, a duck farming unit with 1,000 ducks for one farmer, a chick production centre for one beneficiary, goat farming units with 32 goats each for seven beneficiaries, a buffalo rearing unit for one beneficiary, cattle farming units for eight beneficiaries, and goat sheds with a capacity of 11 goats each for seven beneficiaries.
