Major Educational Reform Unveiled as Chief Minister Announces Free Education from KG to PG Across the State

Bhubaneswar,  June 17:  On the occasion of completing two years in office, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made a landmark announcement regarding the state’s education sector. The Chief Minister declared that students from economically disadvantaged families will now be provided with free education from Kindergarten (KG) to Postgraduate (PG) level.

This ambitious initiative aims to ensure that financial constraints do not become a barrier to education for deserving students. Under the scheme, economically weaker and underprivileged students will receive educational support, enabling them to pursue studies continuously from the foundational stage of schooling through higher education and postgraduate courses without the burden of educational fees.

The announcement is being viewed as a significant step toward promoting educational equity, social justice, and inclusive development in Odisha. By extending free education across all major levels of learning, the government seeks to increase access to quality education, reduce dropout rates, and create greater opportunities for students from marginalized and low-income backgrounds.
