Nabarangpur, June 4: As per the directions of the Election Commission of India, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) program of the electoral roll has commenced in Nabarangpur district. This information was shared today by District Collector and District Magistrate Dr. Maheshwar Sahu during a press conference held at the Ashok Mehta Conference Hall in Nabarangpur.
The District Collector stated that the main objective of this revision process is to include the names of eligible citizens in the voter list, remove the names of ineligible voters, and make the electoral roll accurate, updated, complete, and error-free. For this purpose, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been appointed across all blocks and panchayats of the district.
The general public has been requested to verify their names, addresses, and other details in the voter list and, if necessary, submit applications through Form 6, Form 7, and Form 8. The Collector emphasized that the administration is committed to conducting the revision process in a transparent, impartial, and timely manner. He also sought cooperation from voters, political parties, media representatives, and civil society organizations in the district.On this occasion, an awareness vehicle was flagged off from the Collector’s office premises to create widespread awareness and publicity regarding the Special Intensive Revision program.
At present, a total of 8,58,349 voters are registered in the district under the following Assembly Constituencies:
73 – Umarkote
74 – Jharigaon
75 – Nabarangpur
76 – Dabugaon
Among them:
Male voters: 4,22,816
Female voters: 4,35,473
Third gender voters: 60
A total of 994 Booth Level Officers have been deployed in the district, and each officer will be assisted by four volunteers.
From May 30, 2026 to June 28, 2026, the BLOs will conduct door-to-door visits to distribute enumeration forms. Voters will fill up these forms and return them to the BLOs.
The draft voter list will be published on July 5, 2026. Claims and objections can be submitted from July 5 to August 4, 2026. Hearings and disposal of claims and objections will be conducted from July 5 to September 2, 2026.
The final voter list is scheduled to be published on September 6, 2026.
