Nabarangpur Excels in Governance as 55 Grievances Are Addressed at Joint Public Hearing, Outstanding Offices Honoured, and District Emerges No. 1 in OSWAS Performance

Nabarangpur,Aug 6 [UDN}:: A Joint Public Grievance Hearing Camp was held on Monday at the Zilla Parishad Conference Hall in Nabarangpur under the joint chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain and Superintendent of Police Kashyap Partha Jagadish. The camp provided citizens with a platform to present their grievances directly before the district administration.
The programme was attended by Additional District Magistrate (General) Dr. Pramod Kumar Prusti, Divisional Forest Officer Udayan Subuddhi, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Biranchi Narayan Darwan, Sub-Collector Prakash Kumar Mishra, BDO Sunil Khara, along with other district-level officers, who heard and reviewed the complaints submitted by the public.
A total of 55 grievances were registered during the camp, including 38 individual complaints and 17 community or village-related issues. Of these, one grievance was resolved on the spot, while one applicant was sanctioned financial assistance from the Red Cross Fund.
On the occasion, the District Collector also felicitated various government offices with appreciation certificates for their outstanding use of the OSWAS (Odisha Secretariat Workflow Automation System) in managing official files digitally.
He noted that Nabarangpur district secured the first position in Odisha during July for processing the highest number of government files through the OSWAS online platform, marking a significant achievement in digital governance and efficient public service delivery.
During July, the District Collector’s Office processed 6,906 files online through OSWAS. Appreciation certificates were presented to departments and offices with exceptional performance, including:
Health Department: 877 online files
Education Department: 765 online files
Zilla Parishad: 629 online files
Nabarangpur Block: 413 online files (highest among all blocks)
Nandahandi Tahasil: 434 online files (highest among all tahasils)
Nabarangpur Municipality: 1,012 online files (highest among urban local bodies)
The District Collector congratulated the award-winning offices and urged other departments to strengthen digital governance by increasing the online processing of official files through OSWAS, thereby improving efficiency, transparency, and citizen-centric service delivery.
